BBrrrrrrr! -5 Celsuis This Morning!

This is what I woke up to this morning....7:30am

Yes, that's right...-5

And a pic of a frosty garden...I have my work cut out for me today. I'll have to get the strawberries mulched, asparagus cut back, weeded and mulched....this afternoon I'll have to get as much weeding and fall rye put down in the main garden, as I possibly can.

After that, things will slow down (I hope!) Sphere: Related Content

I feel badly for you. Noplace should be that cold in Oct.

Brrrrr, is right. If it is that cold now, how cold does it get there? How do you all stay warm?

BTW, the veggies you grow are absolutely beautiful and huge. Do you have longer daylight times and then shorter dark winters?

Gorgeous picture of the frosty garden! I am so not ready for the cold temps. At least through reading your posts I'll be a bit more prepared when it frosts here.

OK - one question for you Annie:
How do you know what to do and when to do it? (is that two questions?)
Do you read farming books every day?
do you just do trial and error and then take notes and refer to them?
Do you have a farming gene?
Did it take you a year to find your rhythm?

Don't feel bad for me, lol....that same day, it got to 20 C in the afternoon, was beautiful!

Winters can go as low as minus 30 C...but it is a Dry cold, it is not damp at all. As long as we dress in layers for the weather, we stay quite warm! Yes to short dark winters....

I dont' think it will get that cold where you are will it Michelle?

Kathryn, lol! That is more than one question!! I think I'll put up a future post answering some of your good questions....

Linda, your forum and blog have been on our Links since you started The Journey, it's a great resource!

I just went out and checked and -5C is = to 24 F

Cheers,

Annie
