Monsanto Co. (MON) said its fiscal first-quarter loss was $19 million, or 3 cents a share, compared to a profit of $556 million, or $1 a share, in the year-ago period. Total net sales fell to $1.7 billion from $2.6 billion.
Analysts were looking for nil earnings in the most recent quarter on sales of about $2 billion. For the full year, the company predicted ongoing earnings of $3.10 to $3.30 a share. Wall Street projected fiscal 2010 earnings of $3.35 a share, on average.
(I am posting this because I dislike Monsanto so very much! What do you think of Monsanto????)

reading your post title, I was hoping that you had somehow figured out how to earn money off of Monsanto, but it's always the other way around with them...

We know friends of the Indiana farmers (including the seed cleaner) on Food Inc. Rumor has it a bunch of farmers are working on starting up non-GMO seed companies to help make it easier for farmers to buy from someone other than Monsanto.
Now if I just didn't have one of the Monsanto testing sites just a few miles from my home.

JP, I think the only way to make some money off Monsanto would be to trade their public stock. I am a stock trader, but couldn't bring myself to buy it!
Mary, I hope those farmers are 100% successful with what they are trying to do! Monsanto has made it very difficult for farmers. And many of them did not realize in the beginning what they were "signing themselves up for"
