Drying Peas

For the first time, I am trying to grow and dry peas....so in Winter, we can make pea soup. I seeded Alaska peas, they were noted for canning and drying.

I've left them on the vine as long as possible...the other day I picked not even half of them. I waited till the pods were quite papery thin.
Here's what they look like...and also some strawberries harvested at same time.
Here they are in the shell.....
So I ended up with maybe one third of the jar full....I'm hoping to get quite a few more before the season ends!
I'll leave the lid of the jar so they can continue drying.....
