We enjoyed our first meal of Asparagus the other evening...oh man was it delicious! We just steamed it very lightly, 2 minutes at most....
We planted 1 year old crowns 2 years ago, making this year it's third. And that means we can harvest it for the first time! I read it's best to let it just grow for 3 years without cutting any of it, so that it can build a good root system....
I'm hoping we get enough this year so I can try pickling the spears, even if it's only a jar or two :)
