He's Tilling!

The Gman started tilling the main veggie garden today! He got 3/4 of it done!

That means I can get started planting some seeds....lettuce, spinach, swiss chard, carrots, peas...lots of the cool weather veggies can be planted now.

Meanwhile down in the seedling room......arugala, a couple of kinds of lettuces and basil

In the foreground are Violas....behind them Echinicea.

Over the last several days, I have been trying to finish up seeding trays down there. I've got zuccini, more cauliflower and broccoli, sugar beets and grain amaranth planted. I also started 24 corn!

Whoo-hoo! Tilling time has arrived. The freshly turned soil always smells so good. Hmmm, what will you plant first?!

I'll probably start with planting peas around the garden fence....but we'll see.

Either way, the garden waits till tomorrow for me....we're away today!

Have you thought of all your empty loo paper holders - they make perfect seedling containers - and once the seedling is ready to transplant outdoors just pop the whole thing into the ground.

Cheers

Thanks Dani....I think they would be a tad small for us. I end up keeping the plants quite awhile in styrofoam cups (recyled) before setting them out in the garden.

You're right tho, they would make great containers
