Canning Green Beans

One thing I Love about Canning is when the day is over, and all those nice full jars are sitting on the counter! I wait 24 hours before putting them away, and I make sure that once they come out of the canner, they Don't get moved before they do get put away!

Here's the 26 jars of beets we did yesterday....

This morning, I pulled the beans that were ready....

I'm not sure how many more I will be able to get. There are LOTS on the plants, but the weather is still pretty cool here! And beans like the heat.

I'm hoping we get some warmer weather soon, there are other things in the gardens that need heat as well!

Feels like fall in the air...

I was able to get 7 pints out of the morning's pickings.....I pressure canned them so now it's Their turn to sit on the counter for the day! Sphere: Related Content

OK Annie,
I thought it was high time I told you that you and the G-man are living MY dream. Except we are from outside Vancouver (Surrey - Blech!), and we want to move to Vancouver Island.
If I ever do get my acreage I'll be re-reading lots of your helpful hints. Way to go!

"Feels like fall in the air..." Ah, I couldn't agree more! We still have some warm day yet to go...

I haven't canned in years. I do like some things canned, like spinach and other greens and fruit. I prefer to freeze, but this year I didn't get enough to do that. Maybe next year...
