A New Strawberry Bed

You all know how much we love strawberries here....and boy can we grow fantastic big strawberries here!

But three beds are just not enuf....so the plan is to make one more bed.

After the bed is done, the Gman will simply move the fencing...he'll put that one post in diagonal from where it is now....

I got a good start....digging out crappy clay sod to a depth of about 6"....here you can see I have just a wee bit still to do.

Did I do it? What do u think? I got this far, and thought...dayummm, I need a beer. So I dragged myself up to the porch, had a drink and said to myself....Go on, get back down there, you only have just a small section to do.

Did I do it????

Uh.....no. Too tired. Then yesterday, I lay about all day, accomplishing almost nothing...that felt good!!

Our friends brought over the trailer full of horsey biscuits....the plan is for me to bring these down and dump them on the new strawberry bed. In several months, when the runners are running, I can transplant them into the new bed, full of manurey goodness.

Then, this morning, I woke up to this. To THIS, dayum. And it's STILL snowing out there. I wished for a moment I was still in California. But then I read Linda's blog and....

yea, you guessed it!

Ah well, guess it's an inside morning for me...maybe I'll go plant more seeds down in the seedling room. Sphere: Related Content

I enjoy that feeling of not doing much all the time! Maybe a bit too much. That is going to be a lot of berries.

Yes Krissy, sometimes it's hard to get outside, but once I do, I am usually out there for hours lol~
