The thing that made me smile this weekend, was my daughter opening her American Girl doll. She was so excited, you probably could have heard her at your house.

Here's something that made me smile this weekend: when my kids made freshed squeezed orange juice with my old Black & Decker Handy Juicer. I forgot I even had it and at first they were trying to squeeze the oranges by hand. They thought the juice was (is!) totally awesome!

Having my chickens argue over who gets to sit in my lap and eat greens from my hand. Yes, I have spoiled chickens, but wouldn't have it any other way. They are strictly layers, and 15 weeks old.

What made me smile this weekend? I had the pleasure of meeting three incredibly delightful girls (ages 3, 5,and 7) this weekend when they came to stay with us, along with their parents, at the lake. They were funny, well-mannered, and full of life. They reminded me how fun life is with their many happy antics.

If I get the certificate I would pass it on to them.

Feeding a mama chicken grapes yesterday. Her chicks didn't know what they were at first but when they saw mum picking at them, they thought it must be good stuff and one of them even jumped up high to steal a grape from her mother's beak... after that the little one had to run away very fast cause her sister wanted her share as well...

Wow just one thing? I think my smilliest moment was watching my son at his karate demonstration. He tried his hardest and didn't get too frustrated when things didn't work out, that just made me smile all over.

Catching a goat made me smile. In fact, I laughed out loud. Strange I know, but I guess you had to be there. We'd just picked up and transported home 3 new Angora goat bucks and 1 of them escaped as we attempted to unload him. I never realized goats could move so fast and had as much stamina as that yearing. He went down the road, barely escaping being hit by a car and then ducked through some barbed wire and into our neighbor's 50 acre pasture, where the DW and I chased him about seemingly for hours. It was full on dark and we'd about given up, when he beat us to it. As we drew in closer and DW nabbed him, I almost fell to the ground weeping in relief and triumph. We were way out in the pasture and he didn't want to walk and was to big to carry. Finally, as sheer exhaustion set in, I went back to get the truck, and was chased by two large bulls and had to crawl under a barbed fence for safety. We eventually loaded the goat and evaded the bulls. I smiled some more.

What made me smile this weekend was the total quiet in my house. My husband took the kids camping and I stayed at home to look after the kitten who can't be left yet.

The thing that made me smile this weekend was picking berries in my backyard and eating peas from the garden!

Watching my 4 nephews run through the water sprinkler, then make "chocolate milk" with dirt & water. They then wanted to drink it.

I smiled on Sunday when I had friends over for dinner. The husband got such a look on his face when he thought that I was going to pick my toes with the tongs that I was using to turn the hotdogs with, I was using the tongs to point at my toes! Not pick them!

I smiled when I watched this little girl on the beach. She kept running and throwing herself in the sand. Our sand is white and looks just like snow. Her excitement was such fun to watch.
