On Boxing Day, we took the kids out to a ranch not far from us......
I've always wanted to go on a sleigh ride and thought it would be great for the kids too!
This ranch is set out in the Cariboo countryside.......
right on Spring Lake which you can see frozen over in the background.
Even Santa Kitty came along for the day!
There's the horses waiting for all of us....

(I was sitting right behind the horse, an it was about this time that the Eman said to me....
"Momma you better hope he hasn't been eating Beefareeno!" (Shades of Seinfeld!)
See those dark mounds of dirt? John the driver, explained they have a huge population
of gophers there on the ranch. They are sleeping right now and badgers come along and
dig down quickly into the gopher holes and .....yup....they eat 'em!
I just couldn't get over the size of the Belgians.
John said they weighed 1 ton each and were 18 hands high....

We stayed in one of those cabins on our honeymoon back in 2004. I looked down the road coming back from the Lac la Hache bakery the other day remembering. Now you post about it. Not very long ago and now D is gone - already. But they were good years really good years.
I've never been on a sleigh ride, and it just looks like it was such great family fun. what a beautiful ranch.
